The club of friends of WWF and Ergaki Nature Park

      The club of young friends of WWF and Ergaki Nature Park “Zharki” (Globeflowers) is an informal public association of children and young people who want to protect environment.

      The Club members are 30 schoolchildren from Ermakovskoye village schools № 1 and № 2. The kids are engaged in many local events organized by the Directorate of Ergaki Nature Park, Association of Nature Reserves and National Parks of Altai-Sayan Ecoregion, WWF and other conservation organizations. The club tries to encourage local conservation and environmental awareness and decreasing environmental impact of human activity.

      The club regularly participates in a regional campaign “We don't want to live at a landfill" organized to bring to light the importance of successful waste management.

      The participants of a local campaign “Plant your cedar!”(2013, 2015) planted 1000 Siberian pine seedlings to restore the ecosystems around Raduzhnoye (Rainbow) lake in the Park.

      The club annually joins “Earth Hour” and “The international Snow Leopard Day” actions.

      On a yearly basis, the Club organizes different events within the framework of international campaign “March of Parks”. One of bright events is “Ecobus” - a local campaign aimed at gaining public support of specially protected nature territories.
