Ergaki Nature Park

Getting to Ergaki Nature Park

Ergaki Nature Park is located in the south of Krasnoyarsk krai in the center of Russian Federation.

You can get there fast by combining flying into a nearby airport Abakan, a small and cozy town, capital of Khakassia – and then going by car or coach to the Park.

You could also get to Ergaki from Krasnoyarsk (a 4-hour-flight from Moscow will bring you to the capital of Krasnoyarsk krai) but most travelers get here doing their Trans-Siberian railroad trip https://www.expresstorussia.com/trans-siberian-train.html. It takes 2,5 days (4098 km) to get from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk.

After a stop over in Krasnoyarsk, enjoying the great outdoors in Stolby Nature Reserve http://www.stolby.ru/eng/, it is recommended to discover wilderness in Ergaki. This nature park abundant in wild life and breathtaking views has become a well-known tourist destination. Each year the park is visited by approximately 85.000 people.

Ergaki Nature Park is bisected from north to south by the R-257(in Russian it is P-257) federal road “Yenisei” which connects Krasnoyarsk – the center of Krasnoyarsk krai – with Rupublics Khakassia and Tyva, making access by motor vehicle very simple. Pay attention that in old maps the road is marked as M-54!

The distance from Krasnoyarsk to the Visitor Centre of Ergaki Nature Park is 614 км, from Abakan205 km, Kysyl–195 km. There are several long-distance coaches a day. As the road partially goes through mountains it takes about 11 hours to get to Ergaki from Krasnoyarsk.

You should inform a coach driver about your intention to get off at the Visitor Center. The coaches usually stick to scheduled departure but weather conditions make arrival time in Ergaki approximate.

Another option to get to Ergaki is by train (from Krasnoyarsk to Abakan) and then to get to destination by a long-distance coach (Abakan-Kyzyl) or taxi. http://www.tutu.travel/poezda/rasp_d.php?nnst1=2038000&nnst2=2038230
