The department of environmental education

     The purpose of department of environmental education is to make general public and potential visitors aware about biological, landscape diversity and historical and cultural heritage of Ergaki Nature Park.

     The department consists of three rangers -methodologists. Rangers work at Visitor Centre registering and instructing visitors, giving lectures, organizing exhibitions at nature park museum and arranging tours to Rock Town, Hanging Rock and Siberian Hunter’s Trail.

     Great emphasis is given to enhancing environmental awareness. Information is spread through mass media (TV, radio, internet). The rangers – methodologists also disseminate information by locally published leaflets, site of the park ergakipark.ru and newspaper “Ergaki Nature Park”. The rangers participate in conferences, seminars, tourist exhibitions, etc.

     Press tours are organized for journalists and tour agencies to introduce them to nature of the park, its problems and achievements.

     The team of the department of environmental education cooperates with local communities to direct joint efforts to best educate people and protect nature.

     Much attention is given to educating children. Rangers organize interactive indoor and outdoor classes, expeditions and summer camps.

     Crucial part of the work of environmental education department is organizing volunteer and educational ecocamps.
